1. He has an adorable smile. His smile melts hearts all over the place from school to church and of course with his family.
2. He loves to sing. This child will be somehow involved in music one way or another. He does not know the words to all the primary songs and hymns but he can pick up the tune and "sing" along. He does that at Sacrament Meeting even on songs that I hardly know. I have to shush him sometimes after the song is over because he keeps singing. His favorite song is I am a Child of God and he has loved that song since he was a tiny baby. When it is his turn to choose the song for FHE he usually chooses that. If it ever comes on LDS radio network or if it is sung at church by anyone he perks right up and listens very intently. He is the most behaved at church during the songs and especially during the Christmas and Easter programs because they are mostly music.
3. He plays Primary. He loves to get my shoes and then sit and cross his legs like the primary teachers do. He will get the barstool from the kitchen and take it to the family room and put it in front of the tv. Then he gets a music book from the piano room and puts it on the barstool like it is a music stand and then he leads the songs.
4. He always asks if we are going to do scripture and prayer and then he gets out everyone's Books of Mormon and sets them on the couch where everyone usually sits. He also welcomes everyone to Family Home Evening. He says "welcome to wamawy home meeting. We are glad you could make it."
5. He is dressing himself more and more and he put his shoes on by himself on Monday. (With his delays these are major accomplishments for him) Saturday morning he came in to our room and he was already dressed with his clothes on the right way. That was the first time that he did that ever!
6. He is very tender hearted. The first few days after President Hinkley died he said a few times after asking where President Hinkley was and after I told him that President Hinkley had died he said "When is he coming back?" I told him that he wasn't coming back until Jesus came and then Cayden said "I miss him." I said that I did too. He also has said that about Nanny a few times too-that he misses her.
7. He is funny. As we were watching the funeral on Saturday and he had asked for the hundreth time where the prophet was I told him in the casket and showed it to him when it came on the screen. Then he asked if President Hinkley's pants died too. He calls him Gordon Bahinkawy.
8. He loves to be at home and with his family. When he is trying to get out of going to school he will say "I will miss you mommy" Trying to get me to let him stay home. He does not like to run errands and always says that he will stay with Cody or with dad so that he does not have to go. Sometimes he has to go because Cody or dad aren't home.
9. He is the only one of my kids that has gotten up to bare his testimony in Sacrament meeting. He asked me about it a few times at Fast Sunday in October and November but when I would say ok lets go up he would always say no. Finally in December he said that he wanted to go. I told him that once we were up there we had to stay and finish and he said ok. We got to the top of the stairs and he was grabbing me saying "You do it" I asked him if he wanted me to do it for him and he said yes. He stood by the stairs while I said Cayden knows.... or I know that Cayden knows... He stood there smiling at me the whole time-I looked over at him each time I said a sentence. When we were done you would have thought that he won the gold medal. He was grinning from ear to ear and was so proud of himself. He got lots of compliments that day.
10. He loves his family and as soon as he gets home from school he always asks where every one is. He loves to be with Grandma and Grandpa and he gets very mad when they take Connor and Caleb and not him. In the last year he has started sleeping over at Grandma's when the boys do. He usually makes it all night but once in a while he tells grandma or grandpa that he wants his mom and he wants to go home. Some nights that works and Don goes to get him at 10:00 or so but other times grandma rubs his back or he sits on grandpa's lap and then they convince him that he can stay. He loves to go on rides on grandpa's Rhino and he loves to dig in the "garden" at grandma's house. Sometimes when he disappears and grandma can't find him, he has gone behind their house to Aunt Amy and Uncle Dave's house.
He is such a sweet boy and we are so glad the he is part of our "wamawy" Cayden speak for family.
