Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Another Deacon in the House

Caleb turned 12 on June 21 but since we left for Utah the next Friday and we just got back we had to wait to do his ordination until today.  Grandma Penny, Aunt Calley, Uncle Chris, Aunt Anne and Lexie came down from Utah on Friday.  All of them and Aunt Dena, Uncle Chris, Laura and Taylor, Aunt Darbie and Grandma Dottie and Grandpa Don came to church with us and Caleb was sustained in Sacrament Meeting.  Don ordained Caleb to the office of a Deacon in the High Council room.  Bishop Evans was out of town but Brother Don Whipple, first counselor took charge with Brother Mark Prisbrey, second counselor and Brother Gary Cameron, executive secretary in attendance.  The Scout Master and 2nd Counselor in YM Brother Gregg Chappell, one of the advisors, Brother Mark Witsken and the current Deacon's quorum presidency were there as well.  After the ordination we came home and had a yummy lunch of BBQ chicken sandwiches, fruit salad, potato salad, green salad, and baked beans.  We also got a delightful cake from Walmart with the whip cream frosting.
