Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Week in Review Oct 24-Oct 30

Monday, October 24  We got the kids to school and then Don and I took Kyle into Vegas to see the cranial/facial doctor, Dr. Menezes.  We really had intended to leave earlier in the day so that we could get some shopping done but we just had enough time to go to Wendy's and then get to the doctor's appointment.  The doctor thought that as long as Kyle was not having any airway obstruction due to his tongue falling back into his throat then there would be nothing to do and his little chin and jaw should grow to where it needed to be during his first year.  He recommended a sleep study if the overnight oximetry test that the pulmonologist recommended showed anything abnormal.  I finally got a hold of the company to do the overnight test and they will be sending the equipment soon.  I had to call the doctor's office about 2 weeks after we saw them and find out why the equipment company had not called.  Come to find out the order never got put in.  When the company finally called I did not write the number down and then I deleted the phone number.  I had to call the doctor back and ask for the number. Then I forgot to call and lost them number again.  Anyway, depending on what that test shows we will decide if we go and do the whole sleep test thing which sounds like a pain to do with a baby. We had to do that with Connor when he was like 5 to see if he needed his tonsils out.  So after that appointment which was actually the fastest doctor appointment so far with this baby, we called his pediatrician to see if we could get a quick appointment with him.  I really wanted to see what Kyle weighed because he has grown so much.  We were able to get in over with Dr. Zilberman and we found out that Kyle weighed 11.2 pounds and was 23 inches long.  I knew that he had grown alot because all of the newborn clothes were getting really small on him but I did not know that he had grown 4 pounds and 5 inches since he was born.  They actually measured him twice because it seemed to off but it was correct.  After a quick checkup and a shot (poor baby) we were out the door.  We stopped at Target so I could run in for a few things while Don waited in the car with Kyle.  We then thought that since it was getting late that we would "quickly" run to Brio and get some dinner to take home.  Quickly in Vegas does not happen especially at rush hour and through miles and miles of construction.  Brio has the best flatbread pizza and some  yummy pastas that aren't super heavy and creamy like Olive Gardens are.  It took forever to get over t the restaurant and then they had our order wrong so we had to wait a little longer.  Kyle spit up repeatedly and we went through the 2 outfits, 4 burp rags, and 3 blankets that I had brought with us so I had break into the clothes that I bought at Target for my new nephew Cameron.  We made it home with cold pizza and pasta but it is even yummy cold.

Tuesday-not sure if anything happened on Tuesday.

Wednesday-Caleb had a school play.  It was a Halloween one called Frankenstein Slept Here.  He played Igor with a funky wig and a hunch back.  He cut up some old jeans and put shreds on the bottom too.  We got Cayden out of school early so he could watch the play too.  This was for drama club not the drama class that he is in.  He has been staying after school on Wednesdays to practice.  After the play we came home and started packing for our trip to Utah.

Thursday-We did not get out of the house until 1pm to go to Utah.  It took all morning to pack and get the car loaded.  Connor decided to stay home and help Grandpa with some work that he had to do.  The car was packed and we had the back seats folded up to give us more room.  We had to go to Overton for a perscription and we still had to stop back by the house for somethings that I forgot.  We stopped in St. George for lunch at Wendy's and to get gas and feed Kyle.   After that stop we did not stop again until Nephi for a potty break.  Kyle started fussing about then but I moved to the backseat to sit by him and help keep his binkie in so that we could just keep going to Provo.  We got there around 8 to join in the festivities at Grandma Penny's for Uncle Chris' birthday and let all the families meet Kyle and Cameron.

The rest of the week I will do in another post.
