Kyle calls ketchup "tomato ranch".
He plays restaurant on our treadmill by using his step stool to get up higher and the buttons and screens are his cash register.
He's taken to telling lots of outlandish stories. Most have some element of truth but usually have lions or some thing dad is fighting.
He got quite upset when Cayden got lots of Legos for his birthday and he didn't get anything.
He still has a complete come apart when I leave to go anywhere.
He is starting to be Mr. Bossy. At the park he was telling kids what to do and then being a little terd telling them that the slide was his ship. He fussed at Caleb for being on my bed when he didn't want him to. He doesn't like Caleb to drive. He is very good most of the time when I tell him he needs to give me the IPad because it's bed time or whatever. He just says "ok mommy" and usually gives it to me with out much fuss. He is pretty good in the store about not throwing fits when I don't buy him what he wants.
Last night after a really poor attempt at family scripture study I said "so did anyone get anything out of that?" to which Kyle immediately replied "not me!" It was pretty funny that he responded so quickly and so appropriately! We have struggled for a few months with him being reverent during prayer so I prayed about it and had the impression that I needed to give him a choice of either kneeling and being reverent or me or Don holding and/or taking him out of the room while still holding him so that he is learning that he doesn't get to run around and play during prayer. Well last night even after the scripture failure I asked him if he wanted to kneel and be reverent or have me hold him and he said that he would be reverent and he knelt down next to the bed and was reverent during the whole prayer. He did it again this evening during the dinner prayer. Minor breakthroughs but breakthroughs none the less.
A few funny words he says are quackulator for calculator, umputer for computer, my personal favorite of muddle puddles for mud puddles.
He calls Cayden "Cadi" which doesn't thrill Cayden but is still cute.
He calls his friend Luke by his full name Luke Nelson when asked about him. He wanted to play with him one morning really early like when we were taking Cayden to school and I told him it was too early and like was probably still asleep. He said "we can just honk the horn". I said "what?" and he said " we can honk the horn and he will wake up".
He asks for corn dog for breakfast sometimes but mostly because dad gave him one for breakfast one morning.
He is in this phase where he doesn't like me to go anywhere with out him and will wake up as early as Cayden does to go with me to take him to tutoring and school. If he wakes up and I'm gone he gets really sad and says you never come back which is crazy because I always always come back. When his dad is gone he says repeatedly I miss my daddy and it becomes a crying fit when he is tired. He was pretty much done with naps here after I took his binkie away last January. Once in a while he would still need one and when we had 1pm church he almost always fell asleep during sacrament meeting but since we switched to 11 he's not quite tired yet. Here in the last few weeks I think he's been going through a growth spurt or something because he really needs a nap most days but the problem is that he isn't usually super exhausted until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. That is a terrible time for him to take a nap if I want him to go to bed before 10:30 or 11 or even later. It is such a challenge because Cayden needs to be asleep by 8:30 at the very latest if he can because he has to get up so early. We are in so many different stages in this house that some days it's almost enough to make me throw in the towel!
