Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Leid Discovery Museum

On Tuesday, December 13 Cayden had a field trip to the Lied Discovery Museum in Las Vegas. I went with him because I try to go on the field trips when I can with the kids. I do not like riding the bus though so we drove in and met his class. The museum is like the Discovery Museum in Salt Lake just not as big. There were lots of things to see and to do and the kids all had lots of time to do everything. They ate lunch there but I ran out of time in the morning and did not make us lunches I just grabbed some snacks for us. I also thought that we would be done by lunch and we would just get something on the way out anyway. The bus go there later than they expected so they stayed later than they had planned. Cayden liked playing the musical instruments that had not strings-they were on laser lights I think. he also made a snowflake craft and played with a tennis ball launcher. Many of the kids were lined up most of the day to try the indoor hurricane simulator. Cayden just liked to watch that. There was also a stage there that the kids could put on costumes and put on plays-Cayden enjoyed that alot. Mom did not like the other moms who were with other schools who were thinking how funny it was for the little girls to be screaming Lady Gaga songs and doing cheer like stunts by the stage. They kept wanting to have the girls do it over and over and video them. It was getting later in the afternoon and so by that time I had had about enough fun and had a headache too. After the field trip Cayden and I went to Trader Joe's to get some poinsettias for Uncle Robert's funeral and a little evergreen tree for him that he promptly decorated with tinsel when we got home.  Then we went to Costco and picked up a pizza for the family and hot dogs for us.
