My pretty flowers from the boys.
This past weekend the boys and Don went to McGill (close to Ely) with Don's dad. Don's parents have a house in McGill that they bought last year and the boys like to go up there to the mountains to look for deer and elk. They packed up the Suburban and left around 11 Friday morning. It takes about 3.5 hours to get to McGill so they were there by the middle of the afternoon. They ate dinner at a groovy place called Evah's that is Grandpa Don's favorite. Then they drove around through the mountains and looked for deer. The next day they went down to where Don's parent's ward was having their Father and Sons camp out at a cattle ranch that the church owns. The ranch was about an hour away from McGill and so by the time that Don and the boys got there on Saturday morning-the main event-branding and castrating the young cows was over. That part I am really glad that I missed out on and it is ok with me that the boys missed it too. When they did get there they were just starting to cook Rocky Mountain Oysters. OK prepare to puke-Connor and Caleb actually ate a few of them. I asked Don if they knew what they were eating and he said that he explained it to them but I don't really think that totally understood. I guess it was a whole guy thing and lots of dads and boys did it. Don abstained though which is good. After the delightful appetizers the kids got to go around and see all the animals and see how the ranch works. Our neighbors across the street are actually on a mission up there as of January of this year. The boys had a lot of fun and I got to spend the weekend all by myself reading and watching movies. Unfortunately I had the stomach flu so it was not all that it was cracked up to be but at least it was quiet around here. Don sent me flowers the day that they left so that I could have something pretty for my dresser while they were gone. Cayden called me one of the nights that they were gone and said that they had seen 3 "cantaloupe" while they were out looking for deer. He has the cutest voice on the phone. Don took a few pictures but they are on his camera and so I have to wait for him to send them to me before I can post them.
3 Happy Thoughts:
Ummmmmmm! Yummy. Puke is right.
Sometimes I am glad that all Brady will eat is chocolate milk, cereal & pop-tarts.
What a sweet husband you have! Those are pretty flowers. I hope you're feeling better.
