The Battle of the Ear Continues

I have lost track of the number of times Cayden has seen a doctor about his ear. I think it is somewhere around 13 or 14 and it is the same ear over and over.  I keep hearing people tell me that he has to get tubes but the problem is that it is not that simple.  The infections go from bacterial to fungal and back and forth.  It's a vicious cycle.  The fungal infection makes his ear itch horribly and he is constantly jamming his finger in it to try and get some relief.  We went to the local doctor last week on Thursday and then back to the ENT on Monday this week.  The latest round of drops was so ridiculously expensive.  Wait for it...$150.  Thankfully with all of our trips to the doctor(s) we have met our ridiculously huge deductible and it only cost me $30 but  SERIOUSLY?  It almost equals out to $2 a drop or $16 a day.  We get to go see the doctor again this Thursday.  When we were there on Monday I asked him if we could just call the bank and have him added to our mortgage and we can pay him off over 30 years.  He laughed and I wanted to cry.  Maybe he can dry my tears with the large amounts of money that I am paying him.  He just recently moved into a new office and I am so glad we could help him pay for it.
