We Are the Champions
On Thursday May 6, Cayden got to join some kids from his school and go to the Unified Special Olympics Track and Field event in Las Vegas. It was held a Cheyenne High School. This school is in a much better location than the school is was previously held at. I drove him in to Vegas while the others came in on the bus. I do not do well on buses. He has done this now for 2 years and Connor and Caleb did it for 2 years before that. He competed in the softball throw, the javelin throw and the 50 meter dash. He really did not want to do the running and he kept telling me that all day. Well guess why-this should not be a huge revelation-the starter gun scares him because it was so loud. I finally got him to line up for the race but he covered his ears the whole time and during his whole race. My poor guy-it is so hard to watch him struggle and struggle and always be behind, this time literally. The good thing is that for right now he is pretty oblivious to all his challenges. I dread the day that he has the realization.

Very cute pictures. It breaks my heart that he struggles so much. He is such a sweet boy! Were you able to get an appointment with the clinic in SLC?
