Happy Anniversary

Don and I celebrated our anniversary on March 19.  Don wanted to go somewhere exotic-like Texas-but I was afraid that I would be no fun and too sick.  We thought about California but in the end just opted for sleazy old Vegas.  We did stay in the Hilton Grand Vacation hotel which is not connected to a casino and is new and smoke free so that was good.  We had nice room overlooking the pool but it was a pretty chilly weekend so there were not too many people swimming.  We left on Friday afternoon and went to the airport first to pick up Don's bag that the airlines had lost from his trip the day before.  After that we went to PF Chang's for lunch.  We had yummy egg drop soup which I normally don't like because it is too eggy but this time it was quite tasty.  We also had Crab Wontons, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp-Don's, not mine- and their little dessert cups of cheesecake and tiramisu.  I had not eaten that much in  weeks and weeks.  We checked into out hotel and lounged around for bit then headed out to the strip.  Oh what a filthy smutty place that strip is.  We found a lovely French restaurant called the Sugar Factory where I ate crepes and Don at a Monte Cristo then the big partiers we are we headed back to our hotel.  Saturday morning we stayed in bed until 1pm and slept then we got up and went to Town Square for lunch and a movie.  We talked about going to Barry or Donny and Marie and I even tried to get Bon Jovi tickets but couldn't.  We opted for Limitless and then a late late dinner at Ruth's Chris.  We ate ourselves literally into a coma there and it was delightful!  They have the best Creme Brulee EVER!  Sunday we slept in until about 10 and then checked out and headed for IHOP.  After breakfast we headed home and the boys were at church so we took a short nap.  It was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.  I love my hunny bunny so much and he takes such good care of me and the soon to be 5 kiddos.  It is nice to get away once in a while!

Zombie Child

Missoula Children's Theater Group came to Caleb's theater class on March 17 to teach the kids about theater and makeup.  Caleb got chosen to be he zombie guinea pig.  He was thrilled.
Caleb has also been on a few field trips recently-one out to Valley of Fire and another to the Titanic exhibit in Las Vegas at the Luxor.  There was a write up in the local paper about the Valley of Fire trip.  He went to a birthday party in Mesquite to the roller rink and to the movies with his friends during spring break.  He also went on a winter camp out with his scout troop to Cedar City.  They camped in tents and then went tubing the next day.  He said that this time he did not get too cold.  The previous camp out was in November here and they all about froze their booties off.  At that camp out they were so cold alot of them did not sleep but this time we packed him up with 2 sleeping bags and snow pants and thermals and he said he was toasty warm.  Caleb has also been working in the  lunch room at school. He wanted to because of the free ice cream on Fridays and the free lunch the rest of the time.

Reading Week

This is our attempt at dressing Cayden up as Woody for dress up at school.  He of course informed me the night before who he wanted to be.  They had lots of activities during the week that Cayden really liked.  They had a "mystery reader" who would read over the intercom to them and they played the Pink Panther theme song.  They got to make a music video about reading outside on the playground and a few times during the day they would "Drop Everything and Read".  He read to me over the phone and read with a flashlight during that week as well.
