Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

First Day of School

The first day of school started bright and early at 5:30am.  Caleb has early morning seminary that starts at 6:10.  Connor starts school at 7:15 and Cayden starts at 8:50. It was a very busy morning.
Luckily we are in a carpool with 4 other families so we only have to drive to seminary every 5 weeks.

Our neighborhood had a breakfast at the bus stop for all the elementary kids.  Since it was raining we held it in Whipple's garage. We had muffins and juice and milk.

These are all the kids in the neighborhood who came to breakfast.

Even Kyle joined in the fun but he was quite upset when Cayden left on the bus.
It was very sad to see him chase the bus down the street.

Cayden rode the bus to school so he knew which one it was for the ride home and I met him up there to meet his teacher.  He is in 5th grade and actually has 4 teachers that he rotates through everyday for different subjects.  This is his main teacher, Mrs. Widdison.
And we are off to another school year!

A Career for Connor

Connor is a really excellent foot and back massager.  He could really make some money at this some day!

The End of Summer Vacation

We went to Tahiti Village for our last hurrah before school started.  We had a gift card to Cheesecake Factory so of course we needed to use it.  We spent a few days relaxing by the pool, reading, eating and laying around.

So Long Cuzzies

This was a sad day in the family when we had to say goodbye to Uncle Chris, Aunt Anne, Lexi and Cam.  They moved to Oregon in August.  We went up to Provo for the second time during the summer so we could say goodbye to them.  These are our attempts to get all the kids together.  Don had to leave from SLC to go out of town earlier in the week and we didn't get any pictures with him.  It was a sad morning when we were all loading up to go.  There were plenty of tears!  We are glad they get to have a new adventure but we will miss them.  Hopefully Christmas and 4th of July we can all be together again.

Tuesday at the Temple

I have been trying really hard all summer to go to the temple every other week.  It has been a challenge but it has been so nice as well.  Since they changed the temple film in July I have learned so much more and it is so much more moving and special than the previous film.  I got up really early on a Tuesday morning when we were in Provo and got to the temple at 7:20.  I made the 7:40 session and was back home by 10:00.  It was so nice to not have a 2 hour drive time to go to the temple.  I wish we lived closer to a temple so it wasn't an all day experience to go but maybe it makes it more of a sacrifice to not live closer.
