Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Cayden School Stuff

Cayden has had a few recent school things that I thought were important to share. During reading week they hasty share a poem and he chose this one.

This was a fun assignment that the kids got to work on during testing week.  This page was most informative!  These are the things that he did and did not want in his room if he could have whatever he  wanted.  He did not want his brother in his room if he could choose!
This what he has been working on at tutoring and his teacher wanted to share it with me.  All of the green lines are the times tables that he know and the yellow are the ones he still needs a little work on! Notice how there are lots more green than yellow!!!   Woo hoo for Cayden!

May Day Bribery

Ever since the end of the May Day Dance last year when Cayden was in 3rd grade he has informed me that he was not going to dance the 4th grade dance.  Boy, was that kid serious!  He  told me over and over again as they were learning the dance and practicing at school that he was just not going to do it.  I was quite disappointed because if there is one May Day dance I like it is the 4th grade disco!  I don't know why he wouldn't do it and he would not tell me.  I kept asking him and trying to get him to do it in an oh so casual and reverse psychological kind of way all to no avail.  So the night before the performance I tried the next best thing-bribery.  I tried to bribe him with Golden Corral and a cupcake from the Sweet Tooth Fairy but he still said no!.  Finally I sweetened the deal with one of the things that he loves more than life-a big box of Legos that he has wanted for a while.  I told him that Cody would buy it for him at Walmart and have it there for him when we got back from the performance.  He finally agreed and those Legos only cost $80!  We scrounged around the house and found him this lovely costume-dad's Pink Floyd t-shirt, Cody's suede vest, mom's boots and Caleb's sunglasses!  Stayin' alive, stayin' alive!

Butter Me Baby!

So Cayden came home from Father and Son's and was very, very, VERY sunburned.  While the sunblock did get packed, the sunblock did not get used.  He went on a 2 hour four wheeler ride and so the tops of his knees were so very very bad.  The poor kid didn't go to church the next day nor did he go to school on Monday because he could not hardly bend his knees.  On  Saturday night after we realized the extent of the burn we wanted to slather him in aloe vera.  The comment out of his mouth was Butter Me Baby!

Smelly Fort

After the boys got home from the Father and Son's campout Cayden played with his friend Dallin.  They were quite ingenious in building a movie theater in Cayden's room with blankets and video rockers.  They layed in there and watched a movie or two.  They had the door shut.  When they opened it the smell billowed out and if smell had a color it would have been a noxious green cloud.  2 smelly boys who had been camping the night before, covered in dirt and then had the dirt patted down with a little water from a water fight they had outside, playing in an enclosed space for 2 hours= Get a clothes pin and the lysol!  It took all evening to air out that room and I couldn't hardly stand it.  Even with the door closed it was still pretty bad.  Thank goodness for showers and soap and deodorant and Febreeze and Lysol!

Testing Week Prizes

This week was High Stakes Testing Week at Cayden's school. This is the state tests that show if our kids are learning anything.   In an effort to get the kids to work hard and do their best they give out tickets at the end of the testing each day and the kids can win prizes.  Cayden won a frisbee one day and this lovely silly string another day.  He was busting a gut to spray that stuff when he got home and barely made it outside to do!  He thought it would be funny to spray me-I didn't think so and luckily he chose wisely and did not spray me!  I proctored one of the days up at the school.  Basically I sit in a classroom for an hour and half and play on my phone or read a book while the class takes the test.  This is to ensure there is no cheating.  I find it interesting that they give all the kids in all the classes a granola bar and maybe a juice box before the testing begins.  I asked a teacher once why they do that and they said that the granola bar may be the only the child had to eat that day and so they provide it to everyone just in case and because the kids to better with something in their stomachs.  A little sugar rush probably doesn't hurt either.  It is hard to imagine that a child would go to school with out breakfast.  My kids would mutiny!  It is also hard for me to imagine that a child would not have food to eat!  I hope that is never the case with my children!  I'm glad that the school does that even if it is just one kid that needs it.  Public education isn't all bad.

Good Grades and A1C's

Connor had a great report card this time.  The kid won't stand still long enough for me to get a picture of him.  He had 6 A's, 1 B and 1 C.  That really is outstanding for him.

Don took Connor and Cayden to the diabetes doctor today.  Connor's A1C was 7.7 and Cayden's was 7.8.  Considering that they ate like crap at the fair all weekend and it was hard to calculate carbs that was actually pretty darn good.

Way Past Exhausted

This is where we found Cayden Monday night around 6pm.  The fair weekend was over and he had gone to bed late every night.  Sunday night it was almost midnight before he finally went to bed-too many funnel cakes?  Then bright and early Monday morning at 6am he had to get up for tutoring.  He was so crabby that morning and all afternoon.  He took Kyle's baby monitor and put the transmitter by his Ipod and the receiver by his head and fell asleep on his floor around 6pm.  He was listening to Hairspray.  He did wake up around 8 and stumbled out into the family room where we told him to just go back to bed.  He slept until 8am the next morning.

Cayden Kelly Adams is 11

Cayden had a birthday on February 6. He is now 11 years old!  I can hardly believe it!  He took treats into tutoring that morning for his class and then I made cupcakes for his school class.  He wanted dad's special grilled chicken and rice for his birthday dinner and then mom attempted to make a Lego cake.  It didn't work very well.  She got a silicone mold of a Legos and poured the cake mix into it but after it was cooked it wouldn't come out.  So mom totally improvised and we used a Lego creation that Cayden got from his friend just that morning as a present that he had already put together.  We just covered the small square cake, that sort of worked that was going to be the base of the cake anyway, with frosting and then put colored saran wrap over it so we could place the new Lego creation on top of it.  TahDah!  Cayden loves loves loves balloons so he got 11 balloons that were home for him when he got back from school.  He got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa so they could bring him his new bubble machine, Legos and some summer clothes.  He got Kyle's help opening the presents from mom and dad. Then we quickly had cake and ice cream because Cayden got to go to his first merit badge pow wow that night for Boy Scouts.  Thank you to everyone who sent him cards and money/giftcards.  He bought more Legos-surprise surprise.  He actually had to work for some extra money because he bought a set of Legos and then wanted another one and did not have quite enough money left over to buy the other one.  We got some weed pulling and gutter sweeping out of him-but not on his birthday of course.  Our family rule is no chores on your birthday!  On the weekend, mom and dad took him to St. George for his birthday date.  He wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then we went to Sweet Tooth Fairy for a treat afterwards.

Here are 11 things we love love love about Cayden Kelly.
1.  He wakes up happy and smiling most days.  He actually is happier and more smiley on the days he has tutoring and has to get up at 5:45am.
2.  The kid is a Lego fanatic!  He seriously asked for a display case for his room so that he could put all his Legos in there for safe keeping.
3.  He is always singing and loves to have music playing.
4.  He wants to be a teacher and if we can't find him he is usually upstairs playing school.
5.  He wants a pet bunny really badly but his mom really badly does not want one.  He may have to settle for a fish.
6.  He likes to make Lego movies and videos of himself doing "shows".
7.  The kid loves chocolate milk.  He would get two at lunch time from the cafeteria until I found out about it.  Now he only allowed one chocolate milk a day.
8.  He likes it when dad picks him and his friend Dallin up from tutoring because dad takes them to Maverick sometimes and they get donuts and TruMoo.
9.  He is completely content to hang out at home and actually prefers to do that.  If we are going somewhere he will say, "Can I go?" and then when we say yes he says, "Nah, I think I will stay home."
10.  He is a very tenderhearted and sensitive boy.  He does not like yelling or screaming and he gets really upset when Connor is in a tizzy.
11.  He is a super great big brother to Kyle and wants to babysit him while mom is gone.  Mom has not quite gotten to that point where she will let him watch Kyle by himself but he is good to help out when mom asks him to play with Kyle so she can get something done.
We love you Cayden Kelly Adams!

Snow In Logandale

When we finally got Kyle's crib put together there was a lot of styrofoam and plastic that was in the boxes.  Cayden asked if he could play with it.  I told him yes.  Big mistake!  He played in his room for hours with that stuff but then decided that making houses and blankets out of it was not enough.  He then decided to make it snow.  He called me into his room and said "Look mom!  It snowed in Lego land." Oh that is super!  It took a very long time to get the "snow" cleaned up and I am still finding little pieces of it.

Diabetes in School

Connor and Cayden both started school this past week and it has me a little rattled because of the diabetes.  Connor has been battling this for disease for 5 years now but even though he knows what to do it is still a worry.  The whole week Connor had lots of highs that we were having trouble combatting and Cayden was having lows.  We had multiple calls from both schools from the nurses office where these two spent a lot of time already.  Cayden is not recognizing when he is low and that is a big concern because his classroom is pretty far away from the office.  He was only checking at lunch but both Monday and Tuesday he was quite low so I asked for him to go up at 10:30 and then again around 2:15 just to be safe.  Since the school can't do his shot unless the nurse is there we had a crash course the week before so he could learn to check his blood sugar himself and give himself his own shot with them helping him carb count.  Connor has been waking up incredibly high each morning and it is taking until around 12 to get him back down.  Then he is fine most of the afternoon and evening, going to bed good and then waking up super high again the next day.  I tried to get a hold of his doctor last week to no avail.  So we are just doing what we can.  The nurse from Connor's school always apologizes when she calls but we tell her to please not apologize.  She told Don on Friday at the football game that usually when she had kids over 300 in her office that they would just go home.  But she says that Connor comes in happy and cheerful and always chatty and says that he does not feel bad so he goes back to class.  Last year at the middle school if he was over 300 they would not let him go to class and he would have to stay in the nurses office until he came down.  They must have a little more leeway there at the high school and let the kids make the choice themselves.  Connor is really liking school so far and so he wants to be there.  Hopefully we can get Cayden to start recognizing how he is feeling here soon.  I am glad to have good and competent people at the schools to help take care of my kids when I am not there.

Week in Review 8/21-8/28

Sunday, August 21  We all made it to church I think but I only made it through Sacrament meeting. Cayden was  pretty low and we had to give him a juice before Primary.  Don took me home and then ended  up bringing Cayden home an hour later because he was still feeling low and we did not have another juice at church.  Sundays are usually pretty relaxing but that night Don, Connor and Caleb went to help Grandpa wax the floor at Wally's.  They could not get in there until after 9 when they close and they were there until about midnight.  Lucky for them it was all you could drink soda from the soda machine.
33.4 weeks. Right before church.

Monday, August 22  I can't remember much about Monday other than everyone slept in from the late night working and Caleb had football practice.

Tuesday, August 23  Don, Cayden and I went up to Mesquite to meet with Cayden's teacher for the new school year who just happens to be the husband of one of my very good friends.  We went to Sushi Masa where Don, Serena and Bryan ate tons of sushi and Cayden and I stuck to the teriyaki beef and chicken.  We talked about Cayden's diabetes and his IEP so that his teacher would be all ready for him when school started.  After lunch we went to Walmart for some shopping.  Caleb went to the Mesquite pool and Rec. Center with some friends. Connor had wanted to go the high school Freshman Orientation but we were running a little late and Connor was a little anxious about going anyway.  It ended up working out much better with him not going because most of the teachers were not there and his Special Ed teacher Travis was not there either.  We did not find out about them not being there until the next day so it was just as well we did not rush home to get him up there.  Tuesday evening Caleb had football practice.  About 45 minutes into it we got a call saying that he maybe had broken his hand during a play.  Don went up there and talked to the trainer-actually the highs school teams trainer who happened to be up there-and he had it wrapped and said that it probably needed an X-ray.  When he got home it was pretty swollen and he was in quite a bit of pain.  We decided that we did not need to rush to the ER so I tried to call our valley doc and leave a message that we needed to get in first thing on Wednesday but wouldn't you know it-he was out for the rest of the week.
The splint from the trainer.

Wednesday, August 23  I had my doctor appointment Wednesday morning at 10:20 so we loaded up Caleb and Cayden and just took them to Vegas with us so that after my doctor we could find an Urgent Care and get and X-ray for Caleb's hand.  My appointment went good and Caleb and Cayden were able to hear the baby's heartbeat.  I only gained 2 pounds and I was dialated to only a 1.  Not bad for not seeing my doctor for 3 weeks.  He had gone the week before to Hawaii to take his son to school.  After we left his office we found an Urgent Care down the street.  We were there for almost 2 hours.  It took just about 1 hour just to get back to see the doctor and then we had to wait, then do the X-ray , then wait for the results, then wait for them to wrap Caleb's hand.  The good news was that the hand was not broken only badly bruised and swollen-the bad news was that he was not going to be able to play football for atleast 5 days.  When the trainer told us he thought it might be broken he said that once there was a hard cast on it, he could wrap it in some foam and Caleb could play but since it was not broken they only put a splint underneath the hand to stabilize it and then wrapped it in an ace bandage.  There was not enough protection on the top of the hand where it was hurt to protect it so he could not play.  He was pretty bummed because Saturday night was Midnight Madness where all the teams in their league played 20 minutes scrimmages with each other as a precursor to the game schedule.  I took my camera with me to take pictures at the Urgent Care but the battery was dead.  I tried to charge it overnight but it never charged up.  After our doctor visits we went to Wendy's and headed home.  Don took Caleb to football practice and talked to the coaches about his hand.  He did the running and some of the drills that did not involve hitting.   Then Caleb had mutual where they worked on their Emergency Preparedness merit badge.  Also we came home to a clean house because my lovely cleaning girls came while we were in Vegas.

Thursday, August 24  Caleb had football at 9:30 in the morning because of the Middle School Open House that night.  Don and I took Connor up to the high school to meet with the nurses and go through his schedule so he could see where his classes were and meet his teachers.  We were there for about an hour and half taking a tour and talking to the nurses about his diabetes.  I think this really helped Connor feel more comfortable about being  up at the high school.  Plus he had spent a few days a week during the month of July up there helping his S.E. teacher Travis with the summer school program.  After the high school we took Cayden to his school to meet with the nurses there and talk about his diabetes care for school.  I was pretty discouraged to hear that the only person who could do his shot up at the school during the day was the actual nurse and not the nurse assistant.  The nurse covers 3 schools and is only at Cayden's school on Monday and Tuesday so this definitely presented a problem.  Either Don, me or grandma would have to go up there every day the nurse was not there or Cayden would have to learn to do it himself.  So over the next 3 days we had a crash course in diabetes management for Cayden since we had been doing it all for him.  He did great and learned really quickly to check his blood sugar and give himself a shot in the belly.  We still add up the carbs and decide how much he needs but he draws it up and gives it to himself.  That is quite a relief because it would be increasingly difficult to go up to his school every day  at 12 especially when the baby comes.  It amazes me how we never know how our prayers are going to be answered but they do.  We have been praying for a long time for Cayden to start  being more independent and self-sufficient.  Diabetes is not in anyway what we had in mind but it sure has jumpstarted the independence part.  After we met with the nurses we went to see Cayden's classroom and teacher and then went to lunch at Inside Scoop.  Later that evening Don took Caleb to Mesquite to see Planet of the Apes and get sushi for them and pizza for me and Cayden.

Friday, August 25  Again nothing but football for Caleb although I did want to go to St. George but was too tired because of the busy day we had on Thursday.

Saturday, August26  Connor went to Pioche with Grandma and Grandpa forr Aunt Dawna's 60th birthday party.  Due to the closeness of this baby's arrival the rest of us did not go.  Instead we went to St. George for some last minute school stuff, a tasty lunch at Olive Garden, a hair cut for Cayden, a jaunt into Best Buy for a new camera battery to see if it would work versus buying a whole new camera, and a "last weekend of summer hurrah" at Jumpin' Jacks, a big warehouse place full of all kinds of bouncehouses.  Cayden was not very excited to actually do the jumping-he thought it was going to be a place with trampolines.  It was pretty hot inside the building but Don and Caleb had fun running around and jumping and sliding.  I sat on the couch and read my book and tried everything this side of death threats to get Cayden to go play but he would not do it.  After Jumpin' Jacks we went to Old Navy, Big 5, Target and then to Cold Stone for a treat.

Caydenisms

Not sure where this came from but here ya go
"Little Miss Muffet sat on her butt
Eating her cookie pie."

Talking to the baby after he asked if the baby had ears and I told him yes and that the baby could hear us talking.
"Hi baby. I love you!  I will hold you and hug you and give you your bottle.  Daddy can do the poo poo-pee pee part."

The "D" Word

"Worse, how could it get worse, Ellen. We're on the threshold of Hell!"
With his new monkey.

A close up.

My delightful lunch from the Ronald McDonald house.

Our delightful accommodations.

Playing in the playroom.

A backpack and diabetes bear Rufus from the dietician/diabetes educator.

Waiting for the prescriptions and ready to go home.

A gift from his Scout leader.

A gift from our good friend Sherrie.
Legos from Grandma Penny and Granddaddy.
Gifts from the Gessel's and the Pitt's.

Lots of loot!

That is how we feel alot of the time in our lives and then it really does get worse.  On Monday, August 8, 2011Cayden was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just like Connor.  Connor was 9 years and 3 months old when he was diagnosed.  Cayden is 9 years and 6 months old.  Just a little bizarre.  For about 2 weeks I had that niggling feeling in the back of my mind and really did not want to bring it to light but after too many instances suggesting the possibility, I decided to check his blood sugar on Connor's meter.  That Monday I had already taken him and Caleb to Vegas to get cleats for Caleb for football but after him sucking down liquids like crazy and then having to go potty like crazy after that, as well as similar issues at church and him getting up during the night to use the bathroom-something that he has rarely done, I figured it was time to check him with the supreme hope that I would be wrong.  I checked him on one of Connor's meters that was an extra and it did not even give me a number because his blood sugar was so high.  I called Don's mom and asked her to send over her meter or the one that Connor had with him to double check.  Grandpa came over with the meter and I checked Cayden again and it read 599.  I was trying very hard to not have a complete break down right then and there.  Don had left for Dallas first thing that morning and of course all hell has to break loose when he is gone.  I called the Mesquite hospital to ask them if they could treat Cayden or if they would have to send us to Vegas.  After much cajoling on my end and being told repeatedly that they could not give medical advice over the phone, the woman asked a doctor who said that they would treat him but if he needed to be admitted then they would have to transport to Sunrise in Vegas.  I told them thank you but I would just go ahead and go to Vegas since he would probably have to be admitted because that is what happened with Connor.  Then I called our neighbor Brent May to come over and help grandpa give Cayden a blessing while I called Don and started packing a bag.  Grandpa gave me a blessing after Cayden's and it really helped me calm down and get through the rest of the night and following day without freaking out  myself or going into labor.  Cayden and I left for Vegas around 5, had to stop at Valley of Fire for him to go potty and got to Sunrise ER around 6.  H was pretty hungry but he is such a picky eater and the only to buy at the gas station was carbs.  I was afraid to give him anything knowing how high his blood sugar was.  When we got to the hospital and found a place to park-in the valet area because I did not know where else to park-I told them what his blood sugar was they took us right back and checked him on their meter.  He was still 550 so they took us right back to a room and within 15 minutes he had blood drawn and an IV in filling him up with fluids to help flush out the sugar.  We saw a nurse who we gave our life story to, then an ER resident and then the ER doctor who we repeated our story to.  After about 2 hours in the ER, a few blood pressure checks and another blood sugar poke, we got moved upstairs to the pediatric unit. During our wait in the ER, Aunt Dena and Taylor came by for moral support.  They brought Cayden a monkey from Build A Bear with hospital scrubs on and a set of Cars jammies.  Aunt Dena and Taylor stayed with us while we got moved upstairs and Taylor went out to the car with me and helped me pack in our stuff.  We got settled in room 4014 and around 9pm Aunt Dena and Taylor went out to get us some food since the cafeteria was closed and they only snacks they had were string cheese-which Cayden does not like.  It took a bit of convincing to get them to let him eat actual food but since I knew how to count carbs -and the nurses said better than they did-they let him eat.  He got 20 units of Lantus insulin and 6 units of Novolog to bring him down.  Aunt Dena and taylor got back around 10 with Carl's Jr chicken nuggets and then they left around 10:30.  The nurses had to check him every 3 hours during the night and so by the time he ate and went potty it was almost 11.  We called daddy and told him that we were doing fine and Cayden asked his dad to say a prayer for him.  That was about Don's undoing. Don was not happy that he was so far away and we were having to do that all by ourselves but we were doing just fine.  After Aunt Dena left we said our prayers and started watching Chicken Run on the Playstation they had in the room.  We just stayed awake knowing they would be back soon to check him again. They checked again at midnight and his blood sugar was slowly coming down.  After that Cayden could not go to sleep and consequently neither could I. He wanted his music which I forgot to bring with us.  I spent an hour trying to get connected to the internet and another hour trying to download "I am a child of God" for him.  He finally fell asleep around 2:30 but I decided to just stay awake because they would be coming to check him at 3am anyway.  At 3:15 the nurse still had not come in so I went to find her.  After checking him and then helping him go potty which seriously took forever because we had to unhook him from the pulse ox thing and wheel his IV thing with us to the bathroom, then we had to measure how much was going out (glad he's a boy on that account), wash our hands and then get him back to bed and hooked back up.  After all that I could not go to sleep.  I layed there for a while and finally texted Don at 4:15 because it was 6:15 in Texas and I figured he would be up soon.  He was and he called me and we talked for a bit.  I finally fell asleep around 4:45 but at 5:30 the circus started with a blood draw, then 2 peds residents, 2 new nurses a 6am blood check and another potty break there would be no more sleeping.  They brought Cayden breakfast at 8 and then we had to do his shot.  There was a student nurse that we were sort of the guinea pigs with who took FOREVER to do anything and after only 45 minutes of sleep I was getting cranky and could have done what he did in record time just to get it done but it was ok because he was nice and thorough albeit forgetful.  Around 10 I was able to sleep for about 15 minutes more but then Cayden had to go to the bathroom again.  They had Disney Channel and a Play Station that played movies so Cayden stayed entertained for a bit but he started getting a little cabin fever and wanted to go to the playroom.  I got a shower around 11:30 right before lunch.  We were told that we had to do a few things before we would be able to go home, the first of which was to get Cayden stabilized and responding well to the insulin.  Then we had to get our mess of prescriptions and then I had to show them that I could check his blood sugar and give him a shot.  Cayden did not want me to leave him alone and I did not want to leave him so we waited until almost 4 when the pharmacy finally delivered our stuff.  I should have just gone myself because we probably would have been out of there by 1 but oh well.  Cayden spent his time between his room and the playroom and was the healthiest kid on the floor.  It was very reminiscent of Connor because he was not sick either and wandered the halls and went a bit stir crazy himself.  Cayden did get a visit from a lady who brings in story books to read to kids and also a visit from the same dietician/diabetes educator who taught about diabetes when Connor was there.  I got a sack lunch delivered by a lady from the Ronald McDonald house.  It was a welcome meal since I had not eaten since the night before.  It was just a turkey sandwich, chips, an apple, a mini pack of oreos and a soda but it was delicious.  It took me 2 trips to haul or stuff out to the car but we were finally on the road by 4:15 and home by 5:15.  Cayden was asleep before we hit the freeway.  Our sweet RS president and the compassionate service leader brought us dinner around 5:30 and by 7:00 I was zonked out.  Don was able to get a flight out of Dallas and was home by 8:30.  I was so out of it that I hardly remember anything other than him coming home and telling me that I had done good and he had the con.  It was a very stressful and hard situation but gratefully my contractions were not as bad as they  had been and I had access to the pebble ice machine.  I know that the only way we all made it through that event was through the power of the priesthood and the power of prayer. We had lots of phone calls and texts with lots of offers to help all of which we are very grateful for.  During the whole hospital stay I kept trying to think of the positive aspects of this whole situation.
1.  We can deal with and treat diabetes.  We know the drill and because we knew what we were doing we only had to stay in the hospital for 1 day.
2.  Diabetes is not terminal.
3.  The hospital took very good care of us.
4.  Labor and Delivery were just down a few floors in case this baby decided to make an appearance.
5.  The baby did not make an appearance and I did not have to take a newborn to stay with us overnight in the hospital.
6.  We have insurance.  So far the bill for the hospital is at over $13000.  We may get away with only paying around $1000.
7.  The other boys were taken care of by gma and gpa.
8.  My family was willing and able to come down and help just on my request.
9.  Don was able to get home and was told by his bosses that family comes first.
10. We have concerned friends and ward members who were very supportive.

Let's Go To The Movies

Friday July 15 was opening day for the new Winnie the Pooh movie.  Cayden had seen the previews a few times at the other movies we went to during the summer.  He was so excited about this show and so I took him to see it in Mesquite.  It was the shortest movie EVER!  69 minutes from start to finish and that was with the previews.  Dad was out of town and Caleb was on his campout so it worked out great.
