Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Money Money Money

Connor won $10 in the Mustang Pride drawing at the middle school. The kids earn "mustang prides" from teachers and the administration for doing good things, getting good grades and helping others. The kids are able to turn them in and at the end of the week there is drawing for prizes. Sometimes it is money! There usually is a few dollar bills and a few fives, 2 ten dollar bills and one twenty dollar bill. The boys think that they will occasionally throw in a fifty and maybe once a hundred. Connor was pretty excited to win and it is a good incentive for the kids. When I was in junior high at Lakeridge they had "Leopard Prides" that were the same things as these. We would get slurpee coupons as prizes donated by my dad who worked for the 7-11 corporation. I think I won a slurpee or two but it wasn't that big of a deal because we got free slurpees all the time. I was astonished to hear the my husband did not go to 7-11 all the time and get slurpees when he as little like we did. He found it strange that we did go to 7-11 all the time and get slurpees.
