Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Breakfast With Santa and Cam's Blessing

Saturday morning bright and early (at 10am) we headed over to Grandma Penny's for Breakfast with Santa. Every year when we were little we would go to The Tiffin Room restaurant on the top floor of ZCMI for Breakfast with Santa. My mom has tried to continue the tradition for us with our kids but she does it at her house because there are so many of us. We did not get together with my cousins for Thanksgiving so this is when we saw everyone. My assignment was bagels and bagels are just not bagels unless they come from Einstein. So, after a rough morning with Connor who just needed to stay at Uncle Chris' because it was just too much for him, I left with the kids and went to Einstein Bagels and Wil's for a drink and then up to grandma's house. We had a yummy breakfast of eggs and sausage, bagels, donuts, french toast sticks, fruit and chocolate milk and orange juice. Santa came over to see all the kids and grandma had him a nice chair set up in her new "red" room. Cayden actually got close to Santa this year-he did not sit on his lap but he did get within arms length of him and told him he wanted Legos. Kyle did sit on Santa's lap and Caleb stood by Santa. It was a fun morning and fun to see all the cuzzies. A little while after breakfast I started feeling super sick and I ended up on Cody's bed most of the afternoon. Don and Connor came over and took care of Kyle for me while I slept. Don was fine with it because that just meant he could watch football alllllllllll day!  I started to feel better in the late afternoon and then we went back to Chris' house. That night we watched more football. Cody had to work sometime that day as did Calley who got a second job so she actually was working around 11 hours each day both Friday and Saturday.

Sunday was Cameron's blessing.  We had to get up super early to get to church by 9 but we made it.  After Sacrament meeting where Cameron was blessed by his dad Chris, and Don and Cody got to be in the circle, we came back to their house for a yummy brunch of breakfast casseroles, fruit and muffins.  We visited with friends and Connor played some football with Chris Mann in the backyard.  After everyone left we decided that we were too tired to drive home so we took a nap, watched football, got Apollo for dinner and then watched Pirates of the Caribbean.  We got up Monday morning and headed back to good old Nevada.
