Deep Thoughts

"Great things are brought about and burdens lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” Imagine what the millions of Latter-day Saints could accomplish in the world if we functioned like a beehive in our focused, concentrated commitment to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." M. Russell Ballard October 2012 General Conference

Kyle is 3 Months Old!

Today Kyle is 3 months old!  It seems like he has been part of our family forever.
Weight- 14lbs 3oz
Height-23 3/4 inch
Head-16

Kyle is such a good baby.
He is not loud or does not really cry that much.  He just sort of fusses and we call the sound "rat rat".
He talks and coos and makes such sweet baby sounds.
I have tried repeatedly to get him on film smiling and talking but he sees the camera and is more interested in that than talking or smiling.
I sing Sunshine and I am a Child of God to him everyday.
He does not like his hands covered-he has not since he was born.  His hands are cold a lot especially in the morning.
Grandma Dottie made him a sweet blanket that she tied over Thanksgiving weekend.  It has jungle animals in balloons on a turquoise background and she tied it with blue that matches the minky on the back.
He does not like his arms tucked into the blanket.
He really really does not like hats.  He fusses and squirms until I take it off.
He like his binky alot-the green one from the hospital.
He really likes to sleep on my chest for naps and bedtime and wakes up quite a bit when I try to move him.
He kicks and kicks and moves his arms up and down.  It looks like he is climbing a ladder.
He takes about 5 ounces at a time now for feedings.  We are still mixing the Similac Sensitive that we started him on in the hospital and the Similac Sensitve for Spit up that we started using around 6 weeks when he was spitting up so much.
During the day he eats usually every 3-4 hours.
There have been a handful of nights he has slept around 8 hours.
He is quite drooly-especially when he is hungry.
He has stopped spitting up so much but still does sometimes.  We had to try 3 or 4 different bottles and nipples until we finally found one that did not seem to make him drown in his milk and gulp so much air.  Plus he was sucking so fast that a ton of it would run out his mouth and we would go through a bib and a burprag per feeding if not more more because they were so wet.
I do not like stinky spitup babies so he gets his clothes changed alot even if he just spits up a little.
He is recognizing mom and dad and his brothers alot.  He talks a lot more and especially when he is getting changed and is laying on the bed so he can look up into faces.  He coos and goos and makes a sss sound sometimes.  I almost had him laughing on Thursday.
Friday evening he was smiling and talking to grandma when we went over to get the boys after we picked up Cody in Vegas. (December 9, 2011)
He outgrew his newborn stuff at about 6 weeks.  I took alot of stuff up to Provo over Halloween to Aunt Anne to use for Cameron.
He is wearing alot of 3-6 month clothes and has completely outgrown 0-3month stuff.  He is also wearing alot of 6 month stuff too so it will fit longer.  I go through his clothes almost weekly and take out the things that don't fit anymore.
He hates hates hates tummy time!  He usually starts out mostly ok but it does not last more than 2 minutes until he starts getting mad.
I love to kiss  his chubby cheeks and when I hold him upright he rests his head on my face and I can kiss away.  I also love to nibble his tiny chin.
I thought he had tiny ears but they are not so tiny compared to Cameron's.
He has a tiny nose though and still a small mouth and chin.  His chin is not so small that it looks funny but the doctors still want us to do a sleep test which I really don't want to do because of the serious pain in the bootie it will be. They want to make sure that his tongue is not falling back into his throat and causing any apnea.  I think he is fine and so I keep going back and forth about doing it.  We will not have to pay anything for it if we do it before the end of the year but after that our deductible starts over so if we are going to do it we have to do it ASAP.
He has pretty dark blue eyes still and beautiful long dark eyelashes.
He has a crooked little smile like Connor and Grandpa Don.  His mouth is a little longer on the right side than the left it seems so it looks a little bit crooked but so darling.
He has a cute round head and his hair is still coming in dark like his daddy.
I call him silly baby, handsome boy, handsome man, silly bear, happy man and sweet boy.  Oh and of course we still call him monkey.
I have started to strap him into his swing because he is getting to be so wiggly.
I love using the boppy to hold Kyle and when he eats. How did I get along without that with 4 other kids?
He has only slept in the cradle a handful of times.  The longest was just after we got back from Utah for Thanksgiving and he slept there from 11:30-2am.  Once in while I can get him to nap in the cradle during the day but it is not much more than an hour usually less than that.

We so do love this baby.
